Hi, my name is Anna Asphar and I have been writing about various things for about thirty years. I love to go to new places, whether on the other side of the globe, or a town with which I'm unfamiliar which may be 20 minutes away I feel very lucky to be able to say that I live part of the year in Boston, USA, and part of the year in Aix-en-Provence, France.

I write about things I'm interested in, experiencing, or thinking about,  subjects have included new places, my beloved racquet sports, learning to be a better person, food,  I guess just life in general. I have had this blog since February of 2023, when I drove across the country and wanted to assuage the worry of my friends, who envisioned me trussed and stuffed into the trunk of a 1989 Cadillac outside of Paducah.

I took this selfie on the bus home to Aix-en-Provence from Marseille in February of 2025 after a terrific day exploring, where literally, there were new things around every corner, delighting me in such a way that I wanted to document the day. I hope you enjoy my ramblings.
